Introduction

The Optimizely Digital Learning Designer works on the Digital Learning Design and Development (DLDD) team, part of the Optimizely Education organization, to design and create digital learning for both internal and external users of Optimizely products

Job Responsibilities

· Contributes to strategies to provide a comprehensive learning experience that meets the continual learning needs and expectations of internal and external customers

· Consults with Optimizely employees, customers, and development partners to identify learning needs, audience personas and knowledge and performance gaps to improve software usage

· Owns, updates and monitors the overall learning objectives and curriculum for assigned products

· Works with SMEs to create technical and user deliverables that demonstrate best practices and procedures and provide use cases related to successful adoption of Optimizely products

· Designs, develops and delivers engaging learning deliverables and programs in a variety of formats, including storyboards, scripts, videos, games, infographics, self-paced and scenario-based eLearnings, certification assessments and UI walk-throughs

· Applies knowledge of current learning trends, for example performance support, gamification, microlearning, active training and Adult Learning principles, to evolve and improve learning deliverables

· Uses industry-standard processes (ADDIE) and tools to create and deliver learning deliverables

· Partners with other departments and attends relevant meetings to maintain/update learning materials to ensure our customers receive the most current and accurate information

· Reviews learning metrics, compares these to learning objectives and iteratively improves deliverables based on software performance, usage and gaps

· Coordinates with other areas like Marketing, Product and Customer Success to identify opportunities for new learning topics

· Contributes to writing scenarios and assessments for badges and certifications

Knowledge and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) in Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies, Information Design, Technical Communication or equivalent, required

· Background in Computer Science or ability and willingness to work with technical content preferred

· 3+ years of related Learning Design, Training and/or Documentation experience in a fast-paced or Agile environment. Cloud/SaaS experience a plus

· 3-5 years of eLearning and/or instructional design experience

· Experience working with an LMS and intermediate skills in developing eLearning using standard authoring and video creation tools

· Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design methodologies and standards

· Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint for storyboarding

· Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

· Strong attention to detail and proofreading, with ability to follow a style guide

· Experience in video production and graphic design a plus

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
