Introduction

Optimizely is looking for a Chief Product Officer (CPO) to join our team. As a member of our Executive Leadership team reporting directly to the CEO, the CPO is responsible for Optimizely’s product suite from design to launch and beyond while ensuring it delivers value to customers. As CPO, you will define, prioritize, and communicate short and long-term product initiatives in close partnership with other functional leads, such as Engineering, Marketing and Sales. The CPO is responsible for oversight of the technology product stack. The CPO is responsible for oversight of the technology product strategy, roadmap for new and existing products, and lifecycle of the entire firm’s overall product portfolio. Defines and drives short- and long-term growth strategies and positioning of the company’s products in the market with an influential approach.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Executive Leadership team to align key market and client opportunities. Responsible for researching customer feedback to build roadmap that supports customer needs to drive their overall success. Create groundbreaking products to meet and exceed our customer needs.
  • Be an evangelist and thought leader in the market to strategically assess white space through product development, mergers and acquisition and other relevant strategies. Capture market enthusiasm for our product strategy.
  • Fully responsible for tight execution of product deliverables against committed roadmap in full alignment with sales, marketing, partners, and engineering.
  • Develop robust product vision and strategy clearly conveying how Optimizely will win with its customers and stay ahead of competition - securing strong buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Establish strong relationships with partners and analyst community to ensure Optimizely is recognized as a market leader.
  • Responsible for the overall leadership of the product team to execute and achieve results through a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead product strategy and adoption with a data-driven approach to drive accountability around product execution throughout the organization.
  • Manage the P/L and make decisions with a profitable growth mindset.  

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience working in product leadership roles at high tech, major SaaS companies
  • Strong communicator with an ability to influence with cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proven Product Leadership experience including the ability to develop and inspire teams and other senior Product Leaders
  • Has developed core product management playbook, leveraging people, process, and tools, as well as cadence to distribute and manage responsibilities across team members and ensure execution.
  • Expert Technical knowledge of the Digital Experience tech stack
  • Has experience navigating how the product management team interacts with Engineering teams, commercializing the product, and building the right organizational structures with product owners. 
  • Understands and embraces the importance of user experience and has a solid understanding of user experience standards and product design.
  • Has a P&L mentality, focused on product's role in achieving business outcomes. 
  • Experience in generating ROI demand through a diverse set of both offline (partners, events, etc.) and digital channels (email, paid and organic search, display media, social, community, and distributed content marketing). 
  • Can effectively leverage insight on personas (buying process, media consumption, pain points) to develop winning campaigns. 
  • Encouraging and rallying the entire company after a powerfully communicated strategy, and creating excitement in other external stakeholders and investors
  • Experience in the Digital Experience industry within content, commerce, experimentation 
  • B2B and B2C product experience
  • Ability to envision and define product strategy with prior success in managing a scalable product portfolio, which increase profitability
  • Led cross-functional teams in your group across a wide portfolio of product initiatives – in close partnership with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to drive alignment
  • Evidence of building multiple products t that have reached scale and are recognized as market winning solutions.
