Introduction

The Data Business Partner will work with colleagues key stakeholders across Optimizely, covering all aspects of good Data Management. They will apply their experience to define and document; data policies, key business terms, data lineage, optimise processes, ensure data is of high-quality and available to the right people at the right time. They will work with Data Owners and SMEs to understand the level of quality required for data to be deemed 'fit for purpose', agree appropriate metrics and create  reporting to track progress.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working with data owners & SMEs to create data quality rules, benchmarking and tracking of data metrics
  • Agree and document key business terms, mandating these are used in a consitent way across visualisation and communications.
  • Set up processes  that enable accurate (and complete) inventory of data and its lineage, documented and re-usable by teams across Optimizely.
  • Defines Data Governance 'playbooks' and tracks adherence to drive value and continous improvement
  • Collaborates with teams to build data models and advise on any data capture requirements
  • Support the Data Services Team and the VP of Data Services to build out appropriate project plans and roadmaps
  • Assisting the Data Services Team with the build of crucial reporting and associated metrics to support key business areas
  • Works with InfoSec and Compliance teams to enable the right access to the right data and compliance with any legislation (such as GDPR/PECR)
  • Highlights data risks appropriately and works with owners on mitigating actions
  • Creating and leading a network of Data Champions and help the business unlock the value of data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate data maintenance
  • Foster a data-driven culture of quality and accountability

 

Work Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Knowledge and Experience

  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of management and cultures including business analysts, technical resources, and business executive leadership
  • Exceptional analytical ability to quickly gather facts, understand the business requirement/scenario and enable the resolution in collaboration with Project Team
  • Exceptional ability to lead and work under pressure; independently make decisions at the project team level and properly escalate those decisions that cannot be resolved on a timely basis
  • A strong appreciation of key technology applications including Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Experienced in working closely with key stakeholders to help translate requirements into deliverables and agreed outcomes
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with a proven ability to multi-task
  • The ability to think creatively and proactively in order to identify and drive opportunities for innovation
  • Understanding of data architecture principles
  • Self-starter, consistent performer, flexible to change, positive attitude
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication (besides native language)
  • Exceptional proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong SQL & Python skills would be a distinct advantage
  • Previous experience of executing data management activities tooling such as Atlan
     

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Qualified in a relevant discipline including: Data Management, Data Governance, Data Analysis
