Introduction

The Data Project Manager will manage a number of high priority data projects, work closely with other project and programme managers and execute plans for our core Data Services Team. They will apply their expertise
and experience with establishing, building and delivering complex data driven projects to deliver capability to the Optimizely business following agreed methodologies and applying appropriate standards and controls. The Data project Manager will work closely with key business stakeholders in order to capture new opportunities and translate these into projects with agreed objectives and deliverables.

Job Responsibilities

  • 'Set up and delivery of end-to-end data focused projects & products
  • Creating and owning key project artifacts including control and decision documents and project plans
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure they are appropriately and effectively engaged
  • Support the Data Services Team and the VP of Data Services to build out appropriate project plans and roadmaps
  • Assisting the Data Services Team with the build of crucial reporting and communication tools and associated metrics to support key business areas

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience building and delivering high priority, data focused projects from initiation to deployment
  • Experience in delivering end to end data transformation programmes.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of management and cultures including business analysts, technical resources, and business executive leadership
  • Exceptional ability to effectively, and independently, manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail; requires strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Exceptional analytical ability to quickly gather facts, understand the business requirement/scenario and enable the resolution in collaboration with the Project Team
  • Exceptional ability to lead and work under pressure; independently make decisions at the project team level and properly escalate those decisions that cannot be resolved on a timely basis
  • Preferred 3+ years’ experience in end-to-end data focused project management
  • A strong appreciation of key technology applications including Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Experienced in working closely with key stakeholders to help translate requirements into deliverables and agreed outcomes
  • Risk management and planning management
  • Full lifecycle project management experience
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to multi-task
  • The ability to think creatively and proactively in order to identify and drive opportunities for innovation
  • Understanding of data architecture principles
  • Self-starter, consistent performer, flexible to change, positive attitude
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication (besides native language)
  • Exceptional proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Qualified in a relevant discipline including:
  • Project Management, programme management and or data science
