Introduction

Onboarding Solution Architects at Optimizely are key members of the Onboarding team, which is a part of the broader Customer Success organization. They are responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of a suite of products, add-ons and integrations, that require both a strong technical expertise and a deep product understanding.
 
The CMP Solutions Architect excels in:

  • Translating business integration requirements into fully fledged solutions recommendation and delivering these integrations with the support of a dedicated engineering team.
  • Lead the discovery and execution of migrations of large sets of assets and/or data from 3rd party platforms into the CMP.
  • Lead Opal AI agents co-build with customers to ensure immediate value and long term adoption.

Job Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Strategy (CMP & Opal) Lead technical engagement as architect and platform expert for all Optimizely CMP integrations and AI (Opal) agents. Provide consultative guidance and comprehensive design, translating use cases and data needs into technical plans.
  • Technical Deployment & Oversight (CMP & Opal) Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance for Optimizely CMP and AI (Opal) configuration and deployment. Ensure alignment with specifications and best practices.
  • Custom Tools & Migration Scripts (CMP & Opal) Lead design, development, and build of custom tools for specific customer requirements. Extend Optimizely AI capabilities, interface with external systems, and design data migration scripts and strategies to CMP.
  • Technical Training & Enablement (CMP & Opal) Facilitate remote training, technical discovery, and design workshops. Empower customer teams to effectively use, manage, and extend Optimizely CMP and AI (Opal).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advocacy (CMP & Opal) Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to provide feedback, raise requests, and share use cases. Advocate for CMP integration and AI deployment best practices, ensuring alignment with product capabilities.
  • Pre-Sales & Product Alignment (CMP) Join pre-sales scoping calls to assess integration feasibility and migration scope, formulating custom architectural packages. Maintain in-depth product knowledge for consistent CMP recommendations.
  • Migration Leadership (CMP) Lead the full migration process to CMP from external systems. Gather data requirements, analyze source platform export capabilities, and design custom scripts for asset and metadata migration.
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Optimization (Opal) Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization for deployed Optimizely AI (Opal) solutions to ensure stability and efficiency.
  • Documentation (CMP & Opal) Responsible for creating and maintaining internal/external documentation to support, streamline, and accelerate CMP solution deployment and adoption.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Implementation Engineer, FDE) with a focus on software deployment and integration, technical onboarding, or implementation projects, ideally in a SaaS/PaaS environment.
  • 3+ years of experience developing apps/scripts using JavaScript, TypeScript or Python in a professional environment for building integration layers, applications, and automation scripts via APIs.
  • Proficiency in interacting with external systems via public APIs, including solid knowledge of CRUD operations using REST APIs.
  • Extensive experience creating/manipulating large datasets using JSON, XLSX, and CSV.
  • Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and experience with building tools/applications for RAG workflows (e.g., interacting with vector databases, embedding services, prompt engineering).
  • Good understanding of prompting principles and best practices for optimizing AI model output.
  • Marketing Technology Stack knowledge and experience is a huge plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues and be flexible to project situations.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities, to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences (technical, non-technical, and executive personnel).
  • Customer-centric mindset, with the ability to build rapport, contribute to customer success, and a drive to learn and share knowledge with customers and teammates.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, product updates, customer environments, manage multiple competing priorities, and respond rapidly to customer requests and timeline changes.
  • Strong work ethic, good organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure while retaining focus and composure.
  • Confident, self-motivated, driven to achieve, energetic, lively, and enjoys working in a team environment.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
