Introduction
Become a member of the Optimizely Revenue Accounting Team! We are seeking a Revenue Analyst that will be primarily responsible for supporting the month end close processes recognizing subscription software and professional services revenue in accordance with the GAAP and Company policies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with great communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will work with various cross functional teams and report to the Revenue Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in period end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, BS and PL flux analyses, and presentations to management
Prepare unbilled and deferred SaaS revenue analyses and any corresponding journal entries
Complete monthly deferred revenue reconciliations for review by manager
Field questions from revenue forecasting team related to system & manual entries
Manipulating large quantities of data within Excel
Completing special projects as needed
Identifying areas of improvement in policies, procedures, and operating methods
Assisting in the implementation of solutions in NetSuite that address specific issues or provide improved efficiencies
Gain an understanding of accounting guidance in accordance with ASC Topic 606 and/or IFRS 15
Assist in managing the standalone selling price analysis and other ASC 606 revenue topics
Knowledge and Experience
2 Years Experience in Accounting
1 Year Experience in Revenue, highly preferred
Knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 preferred
Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required
CA or CPA is a plus, but not required
Demonstrate accountability with a commitment to detail oriented work product
Strong communication and critical thinking skills required
Understanding of quote-to-cash business processes and best practices
Advanced skills in Excel.
Experience with SalesForce and NetSuite a plus
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
