Introduction
The Senior Product Delivery Manager leads and owns the product delivery lifecycle which includes planning, scheduling, communicating, and tracking releases across Optimizely’s product portfolio. You will work with our Product and Engineering teams to deliver high quality software through consistent releases and processes. Depending on the scope of release, you will be responsible for effectively facilitating launch meetings and ensuring readiness across Optimizely business departments.
The Senior Product Delivery Manager places a focus on identifying and driving continuous process improvements both within the Delivery team and with their Product team to optimize software releases and organizational processes.
Job Responsibilities
Launch Tracking (Release Planning)
- Tracking planned releases by team and commitment level
- Working within a given product’s release cadence to deliver code to market
- With support from the Product team, understanding dependencies to identify key milestone dates
- Facilitate release health & status meetings as a coordinated effort between Product and Engineering with wider stakeholders as needed
- Define and govern delivery readiness gates, milestone reviews, and Go/No-Go decisions
- Educate teams on the release management process to ensure they understand and follow established protocols (quality testing, performance testing, security impact assessments, backwards compatibility, etc.)
Launch Success (Organization/Program Management)
- Work closely with teams outside of product and engineering (e.g.: technical operations, documentation, strategy & enablement, support, etc.) to ensure awareness and release readiness
- Facilitate and monitor release tasks and quality checks as needed for a given product
- Facilitate retrospectives and integrate lessons learned into Optimizely’s delivery processes
- Identify and track launches against defined tiers in conjunction with Product
- New product / package – 1Q in advance, requires knowledgeable program management / readiness and enablement of other departments
- New significant capability – 1M in advance, less commercial and operational impact, primarily PMM/enablement teams
- Feature / component – 1 sprint in advance, features that need awareness raising in app / on websites.
*Please note, this role will be working closely with our US team so working hours will be from 2:00pm - 10:00pm (GMT+6)
*Work week will be Sunday through Thursday
Knowledge and Experience
Must Have Experience With:
- 5+ years of experience as part of a project management, product department, or release management role
- Program and/or project management with accountability for end-to-end delivery
- Agile development methodologies
- Using software development lifecycle (SDLC), design and collaboration tools, including Jira and Confluence
- Working across teams to build partnerships that achieve organization and product delivery goals
- SaaS development and release processes
- Department process analysis and process implementation

- Team player – someone who is more concerned for the good of the company, its customers, and other team members than being a point-prover or silo-builder
- Ability to learn quickly and manage themselves independently, making appropriate decisions to ensure company and personal goals are met, this role is an individual contributor
- Conflict management/resolution skills - Ability to effectively prioritize over a project life cycle
Nice to Have:
- Project Management or Scrum Certifications
- Experience working in a SaaS company
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Experience in governing Agile/DevOps project lifecycles
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or 5+ years of relevant industry experience
