Senior Project Manager

Introduction

Project managers at Optimizely are responsible for planning and overseeing Expert Services projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. You will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

You will work closely with your development team, the client, partners involved in the project and the internal organization to facilitate a smooth transition through the project lifecycle – and beyond!

Job Responsibilities

Leads both operational and directional aspects of two or more features / processes / programs​.

Objectives are established at a higher level; you determine how to best accomplish objectives​.

Accountable for delivering high quality, on time work product. Dependencies and impacts have been vetted and mitigated upon final delivery​.

Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable or intangible factors​.

Exercises independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results​.

Compares and contrasts data and information from a variety of sources in a thorough and time sensitive manner​.

Consistently solves significant and unique problems​.

Makes effective, tactical decisions; resolves unforeseen issues and high severity escalations​.

Identifies root causes and makes proportional investment in corrective action at every level of the analysis​.

Responsibilities

Independently perform project planning, including identifying and developing goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identifications of risks, contingency plans, allocation of available resources, and deliverables to meet business need.

Lead large project teams consisting of internal and external resources

For large sized projects, hold project team members accountable through oversight and reporting for completing the project on time, with required quality, within scope and in budget

Identify and assist with the resolution of project related issues, risks and conflicts

create credibility and trust with project team and stakeholders up to c-level

Establish and manages client expectations with project team and stakeholders up to c-level

Manage the project change request process independently and facilitate the approval process for requests submitted by clients

Assist in development and maintaining project documentation and relevant agreements throughout all stages of the project lifecycle

Business wide, interact with sales, managed service teams, customer success managers, support, education services in order to have a successful project, including escalations of unresolved issues to leadership in accordance with internal project policies

Report project progress, budget and status to the appropriate levels and recommend corrective action when necessary

Actively contribute to Expert Services' internal development and process optimization

Knowledge and Experience

Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments​.

Shows expertise in a specific feature / process / program within the function​.

Leverages knowledge to recommend improvements to work flow and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s)​.

Business acumen is moderate, and recognizes causation between own group and immediate stakeholder groups​.

Experience / Skills

Excellent relationship management communication, client service, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills

Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management and cultures including business analysts, technical resources, and business executive leadership

Excellent ability to effectively, and independently, manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail; requires strong organizational, planning and time management skills

excellent analytical ability to quickly gather facts, understand the buiness requirement/scenario and enable the resolution in collaboration with the Project Team

Excellent ability to lead and work under pressure; independently make decisions at the project team level and properly escalate those decisions that cannot be resolved on a timely basis

Excellent track record of successful delivery of multiple concurrently running project work streams

Exceed our customers’ expectations by providing efficient service and support during the full project lifecycle, as well as post-go live

Excellent collaboration capability to work effectively with and across other departments

More than 5 years of project management experience (multiple methodologies)

Self-starter, consistent performer, flexible to change, positive attitude

University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Excellent verbal and written English communication (besides native language)

Excellent proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
