Introduction

The Human Resources Manager will play a key role in driving transformation and innovation in the organization. This position will be instrumental to strategically drive key people initiatives in Vietnam that are in alignment with the global people strategy. The people strategy is formulated in conjunction with the business strategy.

This role will ensure HR practices and programs for the employees based in Vietnam, creates an enriching employee experience that considers our operating plan and within a regulatory framework. The purpose of the role is to attract, develop and retain employees within Vietnam. The HR Manager will drive high impact work that includes local employee relations hands on work in addition to broader oversight management and coordination of global activities related to their location.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate closely Country Executive sponsor and local leadership (Hanoi EAB) to support organizational change initiates by developing and implementing change management strategies that drive adoption, minimize resistance, and ensure successful transitions across teams and departments.
  • Coordinate with Center of Excellence and bring on proposal to customize benefit landscape, employee branding, compensation strategies, policy, process, etc. to comply with local law and market practice
  • Effectively influences peer leaders and business leaders to consider country implications on business decisions. Working with appropriate teams within and outside of HR on proposals through implementation.
  • May support the execution and change management of global practices within the assigned country, such as benefits, health and safety, compensation structures, succession planning, talent cycles, retention initiatives, organization development and design, etc.  Effectively escalate areas of risk and bring solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including involuntary terminations and restructuring escalations, conducting impartial investigations into employee concerns and workplace issues, and performance management cases (PIPs) within Vietnam and in support across greater APAC.
  • Strong culture champion and coordinate with Local Leadership (Hanoi EAB) to resolve any cultural issues that may be impacting the site.
  • Works within the established HR model by advising and providing info HR Central and the greater HR team for questions/policy updates related to local employment law, policy creation, legal training requirements, etc.
  • May participate or lead global projects, company-wide all-hands, onboarding, training and development, etc.
  • Work with local trade union as needed.
  • May be responsible for branding efforts in partnership with Talent Acquisition, which may include support for Great Places to work or other relevant awards.
  • Support members of the Executive Leadership team on important aspects to improve culture and talent retention. May include executive leadership coaching, partnership with HRBPs on cross regional activities like assessments, ERGs, regional events, stay interviews, career pathing across functions, etc.
  • Responsible to have a country view of employee pulse surveys with key activities to improve low areas. Research and present survey actions at country All Hands.
  • Be active member of senior leadership committees at a site level.
  • May occasionally be assigned to support senior leaders as HRBP.
  • Work with local legal counsel as signing authority for documentation including, offer letters, policy updates, etc. within Vietnam.
  • May design / facilitate global or local leadership workshops to improve organizational effectiveness. May design or execute specific activities at a local level to improve effectiveness or seek feedback on program design/evaluation (ie - focus groups, surveys, etc).
  • Use AI to streamline work and drive efficincy in areas like coaching, policy optimization, etc.
  • Responsible for understanding HR metrics in country and leveraging metrics to influence program design or evaluation of existing programs.
  • May be assigned to conduct talent roundtables at a country level to assess quality of talent, talent at risk, or gaps in a succession plan.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience on a global HR team in the technology industry with country specific expertise as HR Manager, specifically leading the HR practice in Vietnam
  • Strong business acumen to understand business strategy and desired business outcomes.
  • An understanding of agentic AI that can influence HR processes in Vietnam for greater productivity across the team.
  • Ability to drive innovation to bring in industry best practices.
  • Previous experience partnering with and supporting Executives and senior leaders within a rapidly changing, high growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to handle situations diplomatically and with executive presence.
  • Very organized, and highly responsive with ability to manage multiple communication channels in English and Vietnamese.
  • Ability to operate independently and establish network of trusted colleagues to maintain accurate pulse on the Vietnam and greater APAC office community.
  • Ability to work across a highly matrixed HR organization to influence without direct people responsibility.
  • Ability to effectively address complex employee relations topic or specific legal matters, partnering with external and internal legal counsel and related stakeholders. This may include government officials.
  • Ability to balance business focus and people focus by understanding constraints that may challenge employee desires
  • Ability to take on tasks or special projects to support a collaborative team approach.
  • Passion to foster Company culture through initiatives, training & education, communications, and implementing optimizations based on high-level goals.
  • Experience leading projects and collaborating with distributed global teams, flexing to meet varying time zones and cultural norms.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours may be required at peak times and during global meetings.
  • Ability to establish strong partnerships with business leaders, understand their needs, assess the range of solutions, assimilate data, provide relevant guidance and coaching to facilitate change.
  • Ability to achieve results while working under the pressures of shifting priorities in a dynamic and agile environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company and lead presentations to senior leadership with an analytical mindset.
  • Must be self-directed and a quick learner with ideal experience with of SuccessFactors analytics and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • 10% travel as required
  • University/college degree in Human Resources or another relevant discipline. Masters degree preferred.
