Senior Product Designer

Date: Nov 25, 2025

Location: Hanoi, VN

Company: Optimizely

Introduction

Optimizely is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join our Commerce team. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be an individual contributor who owns the experience strategy for one or more significant commerce product areas, such as Configured Commerce (CFG), Commerce Connect (CoCo), PIM, and Commerce Mobile. You’ll be a key voice in shaping how manufacturers, distributors, and multi-market brands run their digital commerce on Optimizely.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design vision, creation, and execution for specific areas within Commerce, working closely with Product Management and Engineering to ensure successful delivery. You will help shape and sustain the end-to-end workflows that merchants, buyers, and business users rely on across the Optimizely Commerce ecosystem.

You will become a subject matter expert on commerce experiences across the design team, helping to define best practices in areas like complex configuration, AI-assisted workflows, and analytics-driven insights. You’ll also play a critical role in shaping the evolution of our design system for commerce, ensuring consistency, performance, and scalability across storefronts, admin tools, and integrations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and drive end-to-end design across key areas of the Commerce experience, from problem framing and concept through detailed interaction design and handoff.
  • Design for complex B2B scenarios: multi-site, multi-geo, roles and permissions, catalogs, configuration workflows, and data-heavy interfaces.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to translate business goals, customer needs, and technical constraints into elegant, intuitive solutions.
  • Use data (telemetry, analytics, customer feedback) to inform priorities, identify UX issues, and refine designs over time.
  • Work with Product and Engineering partners to design targeted AI- and agent-driven experiences that solve real commerce problems (e.g., guided workflows, automation, better configuration flows).
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Opal/AI teams to incorporate insights, metrics, and segmentation into commerce experiences, helping customers see ROI and make better decisions.
  • Help define and evolve commerce-specific patterns and components within our design system to support stability, scale, and maintainability.
  • Ensure cohesion across storefront, admin tools, mobile apps, and Optimizely One integration so experiences feel unified and predictable.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design culture through critique, mentorship, and shared best practices.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience designing digital products, with a portfolio showcasing end-to-end thinking behind shipped products, ideally in SaaS and B2B.
  • Experience designing for complex systems: configurations, admin tools, data-heavy dashboards, or multi-step workflows.
  • Familiarity with global, multilingual, or multi-region product environments is a bonus; commerce experience is highly valued but not strictly required.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a track record of partnering effectively with Product and Engineering.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills; you can articulate rationale and influence stakeholders across levels and functions.
  • Strong English communication skills are required for cross-location alignment and external-facing work.
  • Deep customer empathy and a drive to advocate for merchants, business users, and developers working within our commerce products.
  • A growth mindset: adaptable in fast-moving environments, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to iterate based on feedback and data.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools like Figma, plus experience with prototyping tools such as Figma Make, Lovable, or equivalent.
