Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to establish and implement effective data governance strategies, policies, and practices across our organization. As a key member of our data services team, you will be responsible for ensuring data quality, privacy, security, and compliance, while promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with the organization's objectives and data management needs.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define data governance goals and KPIs, ensuring they are in line with business objectives.
  • Create and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security.
  • Oversee data profiling and data quality assessment activities, identifying data quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and industry regulations to protect customer data and sensitive information.
  • Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities, defining data ownership and accountability across the organization.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a centralized data catalog and metadata repository to enable data discovery and understanding.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on data governance best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain data governance metrics and dashboards to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
  • Regularly report on data governance progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years of proven experience in a data governance or data management role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and data privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with data cataloging, metadata management, and data classification tools.
  • Knowledge of data-related regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
