Introduction
As a hands-on Data Analytics Manager at Optimizely, you will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts to collect, measure, visualize, and interpret data from various departments such as Finance, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data, as well as developing and implementing data-driven strategies to drive business decisions.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in data analysis and management, with experience in leading a team. You should be comfortable working with large datasets and have a deep understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization. Additionally, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities
- Work with business teams, data engineers and data architects to define and design data products that optimize how our stakeholders interact and action on our data
- Develop and drive departmental and organizational goals through data analysis with the ability to speak to multiple levels of the business
- Mentor and develop a team of data analysts
- Provide strategic input, lead proof of concepts, and support implementation activities for Self-Service BI
- Build compelling visualizations and interactive dashboards that enable us to democratize analytics
- Utilize statistics to identify the significance, noise and correlation in data
- Identify opportunities for advanced analytics that leverage data assets across the broader organization
- Build relationships with business teams to drive value and adoption
- Work with data science, data engineers, architects, and business teams to ensure analysis and visualizations scale efficiently
- Develop and supply strategic reporting, including: quarterly summaries, monthly trends, week-over-week analysis, and daily reporting
- Develop trend reporting on data inaccuracies to help operations leadership in seeking to understand root causes
- Uses data patterns and trends to root cause operational gaps and inefficiency, develop solutions in collaboration with teams.
- Work with the business and leadership to prioritize business and information needs.
- Identify process and system gaps, and highlight areas for optimization/automation with the goal of driving projects to improve these areas.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data analytics, digital analytics, BI, consulting or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when there is ambiguity involved
- Experience mentoring and developing others
- Ability to autonomously identify opportunities for advanced analytics or data products without being directed
- Extensive experience in building SQL queries across complex relational database experience (Python is a bonus)
- Experience translating between business KPI requirements and technical specs
- Advanced proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate recommendations to leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a track record of working well with business stakeholders
- Insatiable curiosity and tenacity to keep digging
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
