Job Responsibilities

Collaboration & Communication: Influential in getting buy-in for complicated and long-term product investments, driving every stage of product delivery from ideation to enablement and adoption

• Develops meaningful relationships with key individuals internally and externally, regardless of level, to achieve business objectives
• Handles conflict and hard conversations directly and with maturity--can be trusted to lead through challenges or uncertainty
• Ensures their squad understands the company & department strategy and regularly communicates it
• Is a visible internal and external spokesperson for the product
• Is effective at motivating and leading the squad, providing required context, setting timelines, and reporting to leadership
Complexity & Decision Making: Establishes prioritization principles that inform consistent decision making

• Ruthlessly prioritizes with company objectives in mind, even if it means killing projects or trading team members to another squad
• Always looks for opportunities to reduce scope. Is pragmatic and clever when evaluating new ideas.
• Epitomizes an experimentation mindset always centered in hypothesis thinking and rapid experimentation
• Helps refine metrics & analytical models to improve quality of data-driven decision
• Executes the fundamentals of leadership and knows when to do vs. delegate, decide vs. empower
• Effectively communicates data and facts to leadership to drive fast decisions

Knowledge and Experience

5-8 years product experience; or 3-5 years product experience with extensive experience with Optimizely (internal transfer or as a customer)

● Excels at and coaches others on the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Product Management including data analysis, product requirements, prioritization, cross-team collaboration, and stakeholder management.
● Keen business acumen and has a strong understanding of the fundamentals of business success
● Work begins to scale beyond their core area of responsibility; regularly works cross functionally to support the end-to-end Product Development process
