Introduction
As a Project Manager at Optimizely, you’ll play a key role in driving the success of our Expert Services projects—from kickoff to completion and beyond. You'll be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget, while keeping stakeholders informed every step of the way.
Working closely with clients, partners, development teams, and internal stakeholders, you’ll ensure a seamless experience throughout the project lifecycle. Your leadership and coordination will be essential in turning great ideas into successful outcomes.
Job Responsibilities

Independently lead end-to-end project planning and execution, including defining goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, risk management, resource allocation, and deliverables

Manage large, cross-functional project teams composed of internal and external stakeholders

Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of projects within scope and budget

Identify and resolve project-related risks, issues, and conflicts proactively
-
Establish credibility and build trust with project teams and stakeholders, including C-level executives

Set and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle
-
Oversee the project change request process and facilitate approvals with minimal oversight
-
Maintain accurate project documentation and agreements across all phases

Collaborate with sales, managed services, customer success, support, and education teams to ensure successful project outcomes

Escalate unresolved issues appropriately, in accordance with internal policies
-
Report on project status, budget, and progress; recommend corrective actions when needed

Actively contribute to internal process improvements and development within Expert Services
Knowledge and Experience

Applies comprehensive knowledge of area of specialization to complete complex assignments
-
Demonstrates subject matter expertise in a specific feature, process, or program within the function

Recommends workflow improvements and establishes procedures that impact the immediate organization(s)

Possesses moderate business acumen and understands the cause-effect relationship between their group and key stakeholder groups

5+ years of project management experience across multiple methodologies

Proven track record of successfully delivering multiple concurrent project workstreams

Strong relationship management, client service, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
-
Exceptional presentation and communication skills—able to translate complex ideas into clear business terms for all levels, including technical and executive audiences

Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail

Strong analytical ability to quickly assess business needs and collaborate with the project team for effective resolution

Comfortable making independent decisions under pressure; escalates appropriately when needed

Customer-focused, committed to delivering efficient service and support throughout the project lifecycle and beyond

Strong collaborator with the ability to work effectively across departments and functions

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Fluent in English (written and spoken), in addition to native language

Self-starter with a consistent track record, adaptability to change, and a positive, proactive attitude

University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
