Introduction

The System Administrator is an important member of the Optimizely Information Technology Infrastructure team. As part of the infrastructure team, you’ll be responsible for helping plan, implement and maintain Optimizely’s global IT infrastructure. You’ll be part of a small team of professionals that keeps our company running. This role operates with a high degree freedom and requires the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve a variety of issues as well as travel to other countries to provide support when required. You will be the “go-to” expert in your region on matters related to IT.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works globally, with a team of system administrators in a 24x7 environment to respond to ticket escalations
  • and projects
  • Helps identify business technology needs
  • Can work in multiple hardware, virtual and cloud environments
  • Monitors and responds to network and security events
  • Assists in the enforcement of standards across the global environment
  • Helps configure and maintain multiple cloud environments
  • Works within the guidelines of security and compliance requirements, including ISO, GDPR, PCI, eDiscovery,
  • HIPPA, SOC II
  • Assists in in ensuring above compliance requirements are met
  • Stays current with the industry to evaluate and propose modern technologies as required
  • Implements modern technologies to meet project goals
  • Mentors junior team members

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience required
  • Certification in a technology preferred
  • Bachelor's degree; or associate's degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure AD
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Office 365 and Windows Server
  • Knowledge of Debian and RHEL based Linux operating systems
  • Be able to configure and maintain network security: protocols, ACLs, NSGs, subnets, netmasks, VLANs,
  • virtual switches, Aruba switches & routers, and Fortigate Firewalls
  • Understands and consults regarding authentication methods: SSO, OAuth, LDAP
  • Maintains log files for patching, backup, network
  • Knowledge of a scripting language (PowerShell, python, etc)
  • Monitoring and automation
  • Solid troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to respond to multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to create solid documentation
  • Able to bridge technology and business needs
  • Ability to learn modern technologies and overcome obstacles through research
  • Travel required
