Introduction
The Marketing Operations Specialist role will be the lead owner of the marketing systems and process that support the global marketing team at Optimizely.
For our systems focus, this position will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Marketo and integrated Marketing tech stack. This includes playing an important role in building and implementing a roadmap for a tech stack, including new technology investments. They will also have a keen eye for data and understand how important it is to successful marketing.
From a process perspective, this person will own all documentation related to our marketing systems and processes as well as own our marketing campaign desk through an agency. The ideal candidate will also work well with stakeholders to properly implement the right changes (software and process) within our organization.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing and fun Marketing Operations team. You will get to work closely with the Manager of Marketing Operations to build a best-in-class Demand Gen engine. We are looking for a candidate that is excited about jumping in and setting the standards across our Marketing team.
Job Responsibilities
Technology
Own the marketing technology stack, including acting as our primary Marketo administrator
Other technologies include webinar platforms (Zoom), 6Sense, Drift, and Reachdesk
Monitor our tech integrations from Marketo to ensure uptime
Own account and contact data with our marketing systems and work with cross-functional teams to improve data quality. Responsibilities include setting the standards for Marketo data including cleansing, enrichment, deduplication
Own our lead lifecycle process (MQL rules)
Report on trends/usage of our integrations to/from Marketo
Work with Marketing stakeholders on how to best utilize our integrated technologies
Assist in the creation of marketing systems and process roadmap
Process
Develop, implement, and maintain data quality processes, training, and reference materials
Act as the primary owner of our campaign desk function with our agency to ensure Marketo campaign support for the marketing team
Own relationship with our marketing automation agency (Etumos)
Knowledge and Experience
2+ years in a sales/marketing operational role or 2+ years as an IT business analyst for Marketing
Hands-on experience being an administrator in Marketo
Experience building out technical documentation and training programs for sales/marketing
Manage 3rd party technology vendor relationships
CRM experience (Salesforce)
Ability to learn new technologies
Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills
Ability to work with deadlines and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Flexible and focused among competing priorities
Analytical experience relating to ad hoc requests, operational improvement, and business intelligence tools
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
