Introduction

This role is responsible for the timely and cost-effective strategic sourcing of complex goods and services in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. This position works closely with business units to develop strategies, maintain existing/create new strategic relationships, and drive incremental value through innovative negotiations and partnerships.

Job Responsibilities

Building strong, proactive partnerships with Senior stakeholders and business leadership based on deep knowledge of their priorities

Development of category plans aligned to the business strategy and function requirements and budgets, based on upcoming deliverables, developing a deep understanding of category spend patterns and the supplier base

Work with the wider procurement team on projects were needed

Support stakeholders in building business cases, vendor evaluation and commercial negotiations via RFI/RFP

Develop and execute on any ESG initiatives aligned to the category

Execute on agreed procurement strategies and strategic sourcing initiatives including the RFI/ P process where appropriate

Develop a preferred supplier list for the category

Build strong vendor relationships to ensure optimal commercial terms (without compromising quality of delivery)

Ensure ease and clarity of engagement for the business, and coach on procurement best practices

Establish and report on appropriate metrics to monitor effectiveness and efficiency of the category (aligned with FP&A)

Work with the wider procurement team and cross-functionally to ensure appropriate legal, and security reviews are in place

Having a continuous improvement mindset, identifying and contributing to further develop the core sourcing and procurement operating model

Knowledge and Experience

4+ years of professional experience in budget management and/or procurement 

Strategic thinking Procurement professional with strong understanding of procurement policies/ practices with deep experience across the (Professional Services and HR) categories. Experience of other categories would also be advantageous

Excellent organizational and planning skills

Excellent communicator with track record of engaging and building relationships with senior stakeholder groups and ‘selling in’ Procurement as a crucial and value-added service within an organization

Demonstrable negotiation skills; ability to negotiate complex multi-million pound contracts

Can-do, flexible, positive attitude that can span strategic and tactical thinking

Fluent English - verbal and written with experience of working in a multi-national matrix organization

CIPS preferred

Bachelor’s degree required
