Introduction

The Human Resources Regional Lead will play a key role in driving transformation and innovation in Optimizely’s organization. This position will be instrumental to strategically drive key people initiatives in region in alignment with the global people strategy which is formulated in conjunction with the business strategy.

This role will be responsible for overseeing a regional view of HR practices and programs to ensure Optimizers based in EMEA have a positive and rewarding employee experience. The HR Regional Lead will drive high impact work that includes oversight, management and coordination of global activities related to their region, including development, attraction and retention of employees. The HR Regional Lead will have the opportunity to work on transformational projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic position of the HR team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Influence decisions made by the centers of excellence such as benefit landscape, employee branding, compensation strategies, policy, process, etc. Incumbent effectively influences peer leaders and business leaders to consider regional implications on business decisions. Working with appropriate teams within and outside of HR on proposals through implementation.
  • May support the execution and change management of global practices within the assigned region, such as regional benefits, health and safety, compensation structures, succession planning, talent cycles, retention initiatives, organization development and design, etc. Effectively escalate areas of risk and bring solutions to mitigate risk. · Act as an adviser or lead changes in the business that impacts the organization in the region, including potential redundancies, negotiations with unions and contact with authorities.
  • Manage employee relations cases and escalations as well as performance management cases (PIPs) within the region.
  • Serves as an advisor to HR Central and the greater HR team for questions related to employment law, policy creation, legal training requirements, etc.
  • Represent the region on behalf of HR when participating or leading global projects, company-wide all-hands, external communications, welcoming new hires, training and development, etc.
  • Represents the company region externally. This includes a strong social media presence and establishing themselves as an HR thought leader in the industry and region. Includes active attendance at external events (where budgeted), established HR networking, and regular methods to bring external thought leadership into Optimizely. Presence should influence attraction of high calibre talent attracted to Optimizely, and recognition of Optimizely’s brand and culture in the region (winning best employer awards, etc)
  • Support Chief People Officer and other members of the Executive Leadership team on important aspects to improve culture and talent retention. May include executive leadership coaching, partnership with HRBPs on cross regional activities like assessments, ERGs, regional events, stay interviews, career pathing across functions, etc.
  • Responsible for having a regional / country view of employee pulse surveys with key activities to improve low areas. Research and present survey actions at country / regional all hands.
  • Be active member of senior leadership committees at a regional or site level.
  • Signing authority for regional documentation including, offer letters, immigration cases, policy updates, etc.
  • May design / facilitate leadership interventions, workshops, or offsites to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Responsible for understanding HR metrics in region and leveraging metrics to influence program design or evaluation of existing programs.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience on a global HR team in the technology industry with regional specific expertise
  • Strong business acumen to understand business strategy, desired business outcomes and balance people focus.
  • Experience driving change processes and legal discussions including negotiations with unions and legal representatives.
  • Ability to drive innovation within the region to bring in industry best practices.
  • Previous experience partnering with and supporting Executives and senior leaders within a rapidly changing, high growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to handle situations diplomatically and with executive presence.
  • Very organized, and highly responsive with ability to drive projects and manage multiple communication channels and global teams.
  • Ability to operate independently in region and establish network of trusted colleagues to maintain accurate pulse on region. Ability to work across a highly matrixed HR organization to influence without direct people responsibility.
  • Ability to effectively address complex employee relations topics or specific legal matters, partnering with external and internal legal counsel and related stakeholders. This may include government officials.
  • Passion to foster an inclusive and diverse culture through initiatives, training & education, communications, and implementing optimizations based on high-level goals.
  • Flexibility to meet varying time zones and to work outside normal hours when required
  • Ability to achieve results while working under the pressures of shifting priorities in a dynamic and agile environment.
  • 20% travel as required
  • University/college degree in Human Resources or another relevant discipline.
  • Fluent in Swedish

Education

Minimum of 4 years of HR experience

Bachelors Degree, HR qualification preferred
