We are looking for a self-motivated Staff Software Engineer who is a strong communicator & collaborator focused on finding the best solutions that solve the problem on front-end JavaScript and .Net backend for our team in Stockholm.  You will consider architecture, cost of development, and cost of ownership. You are comfortable with working in a fast-moving agile environment and working across all functions to help us shape the future experiences of Optimizely’s products and offerings. You will be a key player in driving architecture and design decisions for new UI development.   

Job Responsibilities

You will research new opportunities and determine the architecture and design together with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, User Experience Designer, and architects. Also create completely new user experiences as well as expand and integrate with existing advanced applications alongside other front-end and full-stack engineers on your team and other teams. You bring significant experience in designing and developing large single-page JavaScript applications using modern JavaScript technologies like React. Optimizely applications need to be modular and support configuration, integrations, and extensibility to be used in different scenarios by a wide range of customers. 


  • Engage in high-leverage activities to help your team or multiple engineers to deliver projects that solve complex problems with higher quality and greater efficiency over time.  
  • Constantly contributing to the team’s output, quality, and security. 
  • Leveling up the team via knowledge sharing, extensive code & design reviews, and prioritizing building common tools, advocating improving development processes and learning. 
  • Reviews and contributes to interview kits for technical roles and provides interview training to engineers. 



Knowledge and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer. 
  • Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, etc.) 
  • Experience building, delivering, and maintaining services that comprise modern PaaS/SaaS products. 
  • Experience with agile delivery workflows and modern software quality techniques like TDD, pair programming, etc. 
  • Experience developing or contributing to development platforms or software frameworks. 


Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
