Introduction

Optimizely is seeking a dynamic Product Owner to lead the execution of initiatives focusing on specific product capabilities and broader customer challenges. In this role, you will drive the development of features such AS our new content editing experience and integrating new channels, as well as tackle customer problems Your primary responsibility will be to articulate what customer problems are being solved and their requirement, though you may be refining your understanding of how these fit within our larger product strategy. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing product operations while predominantly collaborating within a single domain, alongside one or multiple small teams. As a Product Owner at Optimizely, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy to innovate and deliver impactful solutions to our customers. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Soft Skills: 
    • Exceptional presentation skills, adept at showcasing work effectively. 
    • Ability to articulate complex problems and solutions clearly and concisely, catering to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g. in backlog refinement/planning/project kickoffs, and in writing, e.g. in PRDs, stories, design docs, etc).  
    • Strong listening skills, open to opinions and perspectives that challenge existing beliefs. Have empathy and compassion for colleagues and customers  
  • Leadership Skills: 
    • Makes well-informed product decisions aligned with business, technology, and customer needs. 
    • Demonstrates a deep understanding of product strategy and can articulate the "what" and "why" for their work 
  • Mentorship: 
    • Guides and mentors junior team members to foster their growth and development. 
  • Process Improvement: 
    • Proactively identifies and addresses process inefficiencies within the team or project (with minimal help from team lead, manager or PM)  
    • Takes initiative to improve project tracking methodologies, including optimizing work monitoring using Kanban Boards. 
  • Collaboration: 
    • Collaborates effectively with peers across departments (ADEPT) to achieve project success. 
    • Coordinates efforts with other Product Owners to resolve overlaps in project ownership or refine existing processes. 
  • Customer Engagement: 
    • Cultivates relationships with peers in various departments (Support, Customer Success, Solutions Architects) to gather valuable customer input and feedback. 
  • Cross-Functional Meetings: 
    • Leads cross-functional meetings by setting agendas, leading the conversation, fostering consensus, and driving decision-making processes. 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in the field. 
  • Demonstrated contribution to numerous shipped projects within their domain. 
  • Successfully led at least one project to completion within their domain. 
  • Led an initiative to enhance product organization and cross-functional collaboration with other teams effectively. 

 

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Product Management or a related field.
