Introduction

Our QA Engineers II are skilled quality advocates who combine a deep understanding of their product area with the ability to contribute effectively across multiple teams. They excel at identifying edge cases, creating thorough test plans, and collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Their solid understanding of Optimizely development practices, ability to write test cases and business documentation, accumulated product knowledge, and strong communication skills enable them to ensure the highest quality software. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in a team setting with other QA engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers 
  • Work closely with agile teams for analyzing new requirements and existing systems 
  • Write test plans, test cases and manage testing assets 
  • Participate in the product grooming process by carefully reading and providing feedback. 
  • Execute tests, find bugs, communicate findings and concerns to the team in a timely manner 
  • Solve moderately complex problems of configuration, testing environments and test scenarios 
  • Investigate and deliver testing strategies for complex bugs and features 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail 
  • Own the quality of small epics or moderate-sized portions of larger epics 
  • Actively contribute to process-related ceremonies, incident retrospectives, and drive follow-up tasks to completion 
  • Gather deep knowledge and understanding of Optimizely’s suite of products 

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 3+ years of experience working in a software testing role, focusing on automation testing 
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process 
  • Proficient in creating test planning and testing documentation 
  • Experience with testing tools such as Postman, browser dev-tools, etc. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • High sense of ownership and responsibility, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment 
  • Experience with Cypress testing framework is a strong plus 
  • Familiarity with common Web technologies like HTML/CSS/JS, and willingness to embrace and learn new technologies 
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal 

Education

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent
