Introduction
Senior Software Engineers are subject matter experts with mastery in a specific product and/or technical functional area and consistently manage and ship high quality and timely releases that solve complex problems end-to-end within a team. They possess strong technical skills and experience in their areas of expertise that they leverage to mentor junior engineers and to make thoughtful technical tradeoff decisions. They proactively communicate their technical design and decisions through various technical forums. They own the operational excellence of their services/components. They assume increasing levels of leadership roles on technical and/or non-technical (cultural) initiatives and play an influential role in hiring, retaining and growing diversity in the company.
Job Responsibilities
This role seeks for a hands-on software engineer who is eager to join and support growing a high-performing cross-functional agile development team building a first class omni-channel marketing solution integrated with Optimizely One.
In this role you will:
- Develop features for substantial parts of a highly reliable, scalable and performant omni-channel marketing platform sending billions of personalized messages a month.
- Design, implement and run highly scalable data-driven services that ingest, deduplicate, count, aggregate, store, archive, transfer, process and visualize a huge amount of data.
- Communicate requirements as well as technical challenges and decisions to multiple stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvements to the usability, reliability, performance and security of our product.
- Conduct high-quality code reviews.
- Leverage continuous integration processes and software deployments within responsibility of the team
Work hours: 10 AM - 6 PM, Sunday to Thursday
Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience designing and developing web applications (specifically with JavaScript/TypeScript (ideally React), Java, the Spring framework using different persistence technologies, relational databases like MySQL)
- Profound knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, industry-proven software frameworks and engineering best practices for producing high quality code
- Basic understanding of software architecture principles and distributed systems
- Experience in building, delivering, and maintaining services that comprise modern SaaS products
- Experience with agile delivery workflows (Scrum, Kanban) and modern software quality techniques like TDD, pair programming, etc.
- Good communication skills to articulate ideas, discuss trade-offs and collaborate with the team and with stakeholders (e.g. Product team) also with regards to time shifts due to different office locations
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
