Introduction
As Sales Director, Nordics, you’ll play a pivotal role in growing Optimizely’s presence across the Nordic market. You’ll lead our regional sales strategy, build and develop high-performing customer relationships, and help organisations understand how Optimizely’s AI-powered platform can transform the way they create, manage, and optimise digital experiences.
This is a strategic leadership role combining commercial ownership, customer engagement and team leadership. You’ll work closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Partnerships and Solutions Architecture to drive new business, expand existing relationships and establish Optimizely as a strategic technology partner for Nordic businesses.

Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute the overall sales strategy in alignment with the company’s objectives.
• Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets and create plans to meet or exceed them.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify business opportunities.
Team Management:
• Lead and mentor a high-performance sales team, providing guidance and support.
• Recruit, train, and develop sales professionals to enhance their skills and contribute to team goals.
• Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Revenue Growth:
• Drive revenue growth by optimizing sales processes and identifying new business opportunities.
• Implement sales forecasting and pipeline management to ensure consistent achievement of targets.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align strategies and capitalize on market demands.
Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
• Act as a primary point of contact for major accounts, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Continuously assess customer feedback and market dynamics to refine sales strategies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Utilize data analytics to evaluate sales performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
• Provide regular, detailed reports to senior leadership on sales metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, finance, and operations to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience.
• Contribute to the development of new products or services based on market insights and customer feedback.
Compliance and Ethics:
• Ensure that the sales team operates within legal and ethical guidelines.
• Implement and enforce sales policies and procedures to maintain integrity and professionalism.
Adaptability and Innovation:
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in the competitive landscape.
• Foster a culture of innovation within the sales team to adapt to evolving market conditions.
Budget Management:
• Develop and manage the sales budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI.
• Monitor and control expenses while ensuring the achievement of sales objectives.
Continuous Improvement:
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback and implementing best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency within the sales department.
Knowledge and Experience
• Minimum 6 years software solution sales experience
• Experience managing full cycle Account Executives
• Experience mapping internal and external resources to accounts
• Ability to build outbound pipeline
• Experience selling software solutions that include CMS, Social Media, Online Marketing, eCommerce, eMail Marketing, or Online Lead Enrichment
• Mid market to enterprise manufacturing and distribution sales experience
• Demonstrated hunter
• An understanding of marketing technology trends to help recommend product direction (both Optimizely specific and other 3rd party)
• Content Management industry experience
• Experience building a sales pipeline and positioning business to close
• College/University degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Must be comfortable working at all levels of an organization
• Proven track record closing sales in multiple industries
• Independent thinker, with good judgment skills and proven track record in problem solving
• Excellent presentation skills, business writing skills and oral communication skills
• Must be capable of balancing general prospecting requirements, fulfilling customer needs and meeting company expectation and goals
