Introduction
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer focusing on front-end JavaScript for our team in Stockholm, to help us shape the future experiences of Optimizely’s products and offerings.
You will be a key player in architecture and design decisions for new UI development across several Optimizely products. Together with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, User Experience Designer and architects you will research new opportunities and determine the architecture and design.
Together with other front-end and full-stack engineers on your team and other teams you will create completely new user experiences as well as expand and integrate with existing advanced applications.
You bring significant experience in designing and developing large single-page JavaScript applications using modern JavaScript technologies like React. Optimizely applications need to be modular and support configuration, integrations and extensibility to be used in different scenarios by a wide range of customers.
You are self-motivated and like to collaborate with your colleagues to find the best solution that solves the problem, considering architecture, cost of development and cost of ownership. You are comfortable with working in a fast-moving agile environment and working closely with User Experience Designers, Product Managers and other stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
• Design, architect and develop simple, secure, scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective user facing applications as well as SDK:s
• Act as a technical leader with client-side JavaScript focus in the development of high quality, well-tested, documented, CI/CD-enabled, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions
• Serve as an advisor to teams and leadership in support of technical decision-making around client-side applications
• Lead architecture and design discussions within your agile team
• Facilitate project planning including requirements elicitation, design, and scoping
• Contribute to intra- and inter-product decision-making to facilitate the distribution of ideas across product lines
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineers
• Pursue growth by maintaining an awareness of the state of technology, engineering techniques, and best practices
Knowledge and Experience
• You have at least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, or corresponding level of relevant education
• You have 7+ years of experience working professionally with modern development practices.
• You have expert level knowledge of designing, architecting and developing applications using modern JavaScript technologies in particular using React and Redux.
• You are a real team player who enjoys solving problems together, and a great communicator.
• You have an understanding and interest for building and maintaining large applications as well as extensible libraries/frameworks/APIs.
• Ideally you have significant experience designing and building large, modular, metadata-driven SaaS Cloud applications with continuous releases that quickly adapt to user needs.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
